Picture special from ‘Chelsea of the West’Records tumbled at this year’s two-day Taunton Flower Show in Vivary Park – one of the most popular events in the West Country gardening calendar. The two day event was blessed with some great August weather and competitive entries were at an all time record. One of the top awards went to Monkton Elm Garden Centre for its ‘Life is a Beach ‘ summer garden. Many of the entrants, who ranged from flower arrangers to allotment holders, photographers and nurseries to floral art designers, were first timers at the ‘Chelsea of the West’. Among the entertainment are the Band of the Corps of Royal Engineers, a quad and motorbike stunt show, eagle and vulture show, a gardening display and roadshow, dog display and much more.
