See the past in a new light at Corfe Castle this Christmas

Corfe Castle becomes an even more magical setting in the build up to Christmas  when contemporary lighting, lanterns, beacons and braziers  add to the atmosphere of the thousand year old surroundings. Starting on Saturday, 9th December there’s 11 special evenings where the winter lights will dazzle and impress when you can step through the gate into a castle adorned with a 23ft Christmas tree and Tudor themed decorations.

On selected dates the castle will stay open until 7pm (weather permitting) for the chance to see the illuminations at their best in the company of Tudor storytellers.

You can also join in the revels of an Elizabethan Christmas with storytelling – you can even join in if you like.

On 9th, 15th, 16th, 22nd and 23rd December there’s the chance to join the Tudor Christmas feast beside the roaring log fire in tea-rooms featuring authentic period recipes accompanied by mulled wine and mead.

Tudor Christmas and winter lights are free events but normal admission prices apply – free to National Trust members. The Square, Corfe Castle, Wareham BH20 5EZ.
