Fundraisers across Devon have smashed all records with open gardens events throughout the summer.

The events have been raising vital funds for end-of-life care in Exeter, East and Mid Devon.

Gardens opened from April to October to raise money for Hospiscare, who provide specialist end-of-life care to patients and their families living with a terminal illness.

The charity’s Open Gardens’ campaign raised over £40,000.

Over 4,000 visitors enjoyed exploring the gardens, from the traditional Devon cottage gardens to grand estates. Around 18,000 cups of tea and coffee were sipped, as well as scones and cakes too numerous to count.
