Two Dorset schools are opening their gardens in August to raise funds for St Margaret’s Hospice Care, dedicated to providing a range of care and support for people with life-limiting conditions in Dorset and Somerset.
Sherborne School opens its stunning grounds at Abbey Road, Sherborne DT9 3LF on Thursday 20th August from 11am until 3pm. There are several different garden areas that have unique views of Sherborne Abbey, with manicured lawns and wildlife friendly planting. Refreshments available, wheelchair access and dogs allowed on leads. Admission £3.
Hanford School at Child Okeford, Blandford Forum DT11 8HN, with 45 acres of gardens and grounds, opens on Thursday 27th August from 11am until 3pm. Wander through orchards, fields, and a walled kitchen garden; the garden team cultivate plants from their own seeds and propagate cuttings, the pupils encouraged to learn gardening and horticultural skills. Refreshments available, wheelchair access, dogs allowed on leads.
