SAS Whittington House Open Garden

Open Sunday 12 June, 10am-4pm.

110-acre estate created by Lord Devonport with herbaceous borders, rhododendron beds, rose garden, rock garden, lawns and terraces all restored by SAS. An arboretum, 18-acre nature woodland and a wildflower meadow are home to many species of wildlife. The estate is bordered by an extensive river frontage with restored boat house and pump house. Interesting historical information displayed and presented around the estate. Light refreshments, teas and homemade cakes available.

Bucklebury House Open Gardens

Open Sunday 5 June, 2pm-5pm.

Extensive garden “rooms” including a walled kitchen garden, spring garden and a parterre herb garden. A nut walk, maze, herbaceous borders, sunken garden, carp ponds and a woodland walk surround a historic manor house.

Admission £3.50 per adult, children under 12 free. Opening for the British Red Cross.

The Old Manor Open Garden

Open Sunday 29 May, 2pm-5pm.

Musicians will play during the afternoon in this relaxed family-friendly garden of around five acres. There is a knot garden, pergola, large terrace, orchard, extensive lawns and an ancient oak avenue.

Admission £3.50 per adult, children under 12 free. Opening for the British Red Cross.

Open Gardens: Glenmere and Oak Cottage

Open Sunday 22 May and Sunday 24 July, 2pm-5pm.

This immaculate, Japanese-style garden has a traditional torii gate. Its all-season delights include a stunning collection of hydrangeas. The garden’s other features are a dry-bed stream bridge and pond, waiting arbour, teahouse, raked gravel area, vegetable garden, greenhouse, and a soft fruit area. The price includes entry to nearby Oak Cottage, too - which is just a short walk away.

Spring Garden and Gift Fair, Taplow Court

Open Wednesday 18 May, 10am-4pm.

Enjoy the grounds of Taplow Court that includes a 7th-century Anglo Saxon burial ground, magnificent trees, a wildflower garden, water features, pergolas and beautiful planting, with guided house tours on the day. An exciting variety of stalls will offer gardeners everything from growing tips to plant supports, interesting and unusual plants and other garden-related items. Exhibitors will also sell luxury gifts and lifestyle items. Delicious home made refreshments all day.

Plant Sale at Riseley Village Hall

Open Saturday 14 May, 10am-3pm.

A wide range of summer bedding, hanging baskets and many other interesting plants alongside gift stalls all around the Riseley Village Tea Room, which is a not-for-profit traditional tea room. Opened in 2013 in Riseley Memorial Hall the tea room is run by locals, largely as volunteers. There are 12 varieties of loose leaf tea, afternoon teas, cream teas and lovely cakes all baked by local ladies and presented in vintage china on white linen cloths - a great British tradition traditionally served with a smile.
